Public relations is a fine line
A fire disaster is unimaginably terrible.
At some point, the media’s attention inevitably turns to those who have experienced and survived such an event.
For days now, we have been receiving numerous media requests for Philipp Bosshard.
What often looks effortless and natural from the outside is, in reality, a very mindful and intense process.
Every request is carefully considered: What suits him at this moment? How much energy is available right now? How deep can and does he want to go? Which platform feels safe? Where can he inspire others without overextending himself?
All of these decisions are made together. Step by step.
So far, the choices have included an interview in the Tages-Anzeiger, on SRF’s Gredig direkt, as well as in the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Austria’s Der Standard. Recently, we consciously declined requests from German television. Time and again, the central question arises: How can Philipp offer hope? How can he show that, thanks to sport, he has found a fulfilling life - without having his story taken over by others?
Public relations in such situations is a fine line.
There is no right or wrong. But there is responsibility, trust, and time.
That is part of my work. Each time, it is new, challenging, and deeply human.
